Training Course Terms and Conditions of Sale

Grounds Training is a trading name of Sampson Training Limited, company number 12683129. Registered in England and Wales. Grounds Training is a Lantra Approved Training Provider.

Bookings and payments

Sampson Training Limited accepts course bookings via email. In making a booking, clients accept our terms as detailed below.

A purchase order is required to confirm your booking. Where a purchase order is not available, full payment of our invoice is required prior to training taking place. Payment of our invoices can be made by BACS.

Cancellations, substitutions and refunds

Cancellation charges are applied in all cases. We regret that we have to do this, however all bookings involve administrative costs and it is difficult to fill spaces made vacant by late cancellations.

Cancellation charges depend on when the written cancellation notice is received. A full refund will be given only if more than 4 weeks’ notice is given of a cancellation. Our refund rates are:

  • Over 4 weeks’ cancellation notice: Full refund
  • 2-4 weeks cancellation notice: 50% refund
  • Less than 14 days cancellation notice: No refund unless in exceptional circumstances, for which a medical certificate may be requested.

Alternatively, a substitute delegate can be named up to two weeks before the course date after which a charge will be made for re-registration.

No refund will be payable for non-attendance or if no prior notice of cancellation is given. Any refunds will be issued after the course takes place.

Course alteration/cancellation by the provider

It may be necessary for reasons beyond the control of Sampson Training Limited to alter the content and timing of the course, the date, venue or instructor. We reserve the right to cancel a course up to and including the date of the course if insufficient bookings have been received or in the event of instructor illness if a substitute is unavailable. We will strive to give as much notice as possible in such an event. In all cases, people who had registered to attend a cancelled course will be given the option of a full refund or rescheduling to a future course date, but Sampson Training Limited disclaims any further liability.

Delivery of training

Upon booking, a candidate, or their employer, presents each individual as suitable for undertaking the training in question. Please let us know when booking training if you believe a candidate may require any reasonable adjustment or special considerations. We are unable to assess if any candidate has the ability to pass an assessment. Quotations make no provision for reassessment; in the event of a candidate failing an assessment, it is the responsibility of the candidate, or their employer, to make arrangements for reassessment and meeting the associated costs.

We deliver training for adults working in many different types of organisations in a range of sectors. Where training takes place in establishments where safeguarding measures are in place, such as a school, clients are requested to ensure all visitors to their site are supervised in line with their own safeguarding procedures. Instructors carry photographic identification to enable clients to verify their identity. If a member of staff attending a training course in their workplace is under the age of 18, we ask that they are supervised by their line manager for the duration of the course in line with their employer’s own safeguarding procedures.

As part of its quality assurance processes, Lantra conducts instructor observations from time to time. We will notify clients in advance of any observations as soon as they are confirmed. Observations cause no disruption to training.
