It is led by a groundcare machinery expert who also holds a teaching qualification. On successful completion, the candidate will be able to deliver machinery instruction training and will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

Firstly, you will complete the Lantra Groundcare Machinery Health & Safety e-learning module, a prerequisite for attendance on this course. It is an online health and safety qualification, completed in approximately 1 hour of self-study. Quality approved, it covers all aspects of work place health and safety knowledge.

Then, over the course of two days you will cover;

1. Review industry legislation
2. Review record keeping
3. Teaching styles and how to enhance our instruction
4. Learning styles and how this affects our instruction
5. How to structure an operator training course
6. How to maintain CPD for learners and supervisors
7. Building confidence

The Lantra Safe Use of Mowers certificate forms part of your training and is mandatory for this course. To maintain quality assurance candidates will, on successful completion of their assessment, gain a Safe Use of Mowers certificate. Training is specific to the type of cutting mechanism used and focuses on safe operation, including;

1. Health & Safety
2. Pre-use checks
3. Basic Maintenance
4. Identification of controls and instruments
5. Operating the machine

Important notice for employers: Although a person who is trained and achieves a qualification in the use of an item of machinery/equipment may train another operative back in the workplace, their qualification does not authorise them to assess an operative's competence, nor grant them any qualification.
