This new one-day training course is aimed at those involved in planting forest trees, especially where trees have been chemically pre-treated.

The Lantra Planting Forest Trees course combines classroom and practical learning, and covers all aspects of planting trees for commercial forestry.

You will learn how to safely carry out the commercial planting of trees, with theory sessions covering the health and safety implications of working with chemically planted trees, biosecurity
and relevant legislation. Then it's time to get hands-on, learning the practical techniques used when planting trees from a highly-skilled instructor.

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Understand biosecurity
  • Legislation that affects pesticide use relating to planting forest trees
  • Environmental considerations
  • Preparing for planting trees
  • Planting techniques for trees

Upon completion, you will receive a Lantra Certificate of Attendance, enabling you and your employer to demonstrate that you have completed sufficient training to meet the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).
