This interactive seminar is aimed at individuals who have responsibility for the management of grounds teams, including Town and Parish Clerks, Country Estate Manager, School Bursars, Corporate Facilities Managers and Housing Association Managers. It can also be adapted for Grounds Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders.

The session is led by Martin Sampson, a former Grounds Manager who went on to become a Lantra Approved Instructor, End Point Assessor and Technical Verifier. He previously held senior positions in local authorities and in the private sector at prestigious sporting venues and public schools, and understands the differing dynamics and structures of these environments. It takes account of common processes and accountability across all sectors and covers the following subjects in an easy to digest format:

  • Health and Safety, including risk assessments
  • Chemicals/COSHH
  • Sports turf and grounds maintenance
  • Machinery, including daily checks and safe operating procedures
  • Budgetary management
  • Staff training
