This 1-day technical course is for anyone who uses and maintains cylinder mowers in the workplace. It is suitable for all abilities, and upon completion you will receive a Lantra Award in Landbased Machinery Maintenance - mower set up.

Please note that you must have completed the Groundcare Machinery Maintenance - Health & Safety e-learning course before staring this course. This is an online Health and Safety Qualification, completed in approximately 1 hour of self-study. 

It equips you with the knowledge and skills for setting up and maintaining your mower. Your experienced instructor will ensure you are able to set up the machine safely and with confidence. It covers relevant legislation, health and safety and the theory of mower set-up, then you'll learn the practical skills through hands-on experience of setting up cutting units.

During the course, you will cover;

  • Cutting unit handling safety
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Cylinder mower principles
  • Identifying and troubleshooting issues with the quality of cut
  • Setting up cutting cylinders
