This is a training only half day course. In that time learners will develop the basic skills of manual
handling with background theory and practice. They look at the types of injuries caused by incorrect handling and how to stay safe when performing tasks.
This course is ideal for employees or self-employed people that work in a controlled environment,, especially if they are carrying out repetitive tasks that involve manual handling.
By the end of our course learners will be able to:
- State the principles of safe lifting to minimise risk of injury
- Be aware of parts of your body that are at risk of injury due to poor handling techniques and understand common injuries and how they occur
- Better recognise the risks of manual handling and how to help reduce them in their workplace
This is training only. Upon completion learners receive a Lantra Awards Certificate of Training. If you require an assessed course (Certificate of Competence) see Applied Manual Handling.
