PA1/PA6A is one of the most popular qualifications in land-based industries as it applies to the application of pesticides using a knapsack sprayer. We deliver PA1 and PA6 through both Lantra and City & Guilds NPTC, according to your preference.
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Understand their duties under the law and how to be a safe and competent pesticide user

- State legislation relevant to pesticide application

- Store and transport pesticides safely

- Identify and describe how hand held applicators work
- Identify and select nozzles for various applications
- Achieve the required spray quality
- Carry out pre-start checks
- Calibrate the applicator
- Mix and fill applicator accurately and safely
- Operate the applicator safely and efficiently in various situations
- Prevent environmental hazards
- Decontaminate and store equipment
This is a nationally-recognised qualification. Upon successful completion, learners receive certification and a Skills Identity Card.
