Hand Held Applicators (NPTC PA6) with To or Near Water (NPTC PA6AW)

Usually combined with the mandatory PA1 unit, PA6A is applicable to the application of pesticides with pedestrian hand held equipment.

PA1/PA6A is one of the most popular qualifications in land-based industries as it applies to the application of pesticides using a knapsack sprayer. We deliver PA1 and PA6 through both Lantra and City & Guilds NPTC, according to your preference.

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • State legislation relevant to pesticide application

  • Identify and describe how hand held applicators work
  • Identify and select nozzles for various applications
  • Achieve the required spray quality
  • Carry out pre-start checks
  • Calibrate the applicator
  • Mix and fill applicator accurately and safely
  • Operate the applicator safely and efficiently in various situations
  • Prevent environmental hazards
  • Decontaminate and store equipment

This is a nationally-recognised qualification. Upon successful completion, learners receive certification and a Skills Identity Card.
