Independent Assessment - Practical test and one to one verbal questioning
This qualification is about the directional felling of trees using a chainsaw. The felling technique will be appropriate to tree size, weight, condition and species as well as taking into account guide bar size and weather conditions. This covers both coniferous and broadleaf trees, trees that are upright, trees that are weighted towards and that are weighted against a given felling direction. If you are working with chemicals or machinery you need to be appropriately trained or certificated in line with current legislation.
This course is usually taken in conjunction with City & Guilds NPTC 002003 Level 2 Award in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting because delegates need to complete 002003 before undertaking 002004 course. If the courses are taken together both assessments are taken on the same day.
All independent assessments are undertaken on a separate day, a few days after the training.
Open courses for individuals to attend are available in the Stafford area. On-site courses can be arranged in many areas of the UK for groups of 4 or more.
