“Our experience to date with Grounds Training has been excellent. They have been totally flexible in adapting to our practical needs and have worked with us to achieve our outcomes. This is the largest cohort of volunteers who have received training and the first time we have delivered a bespoke online-to-onsite education programme. The content of the online course is spot on for the audience and well supported by the booklet.”

ABOUT US

Grounds Training was established in 2006 as a division of Pitchcare.com (which was later incorporated into the Maxwell Amenity group) by Christine Johnson. Under her leadership over the next 12 years, the company gained recognition as the go-to provider of quality education within the sports turf and ground care sectors.

In 2020 it was acquired by Lantra Approved Provider, Sampson Training Limited. The team comprises Chris Johnson, Martin Sampson and Ellie Parry. Following a 35 year career in sports turf management, Martin has run a successful training company for the past seven years. He is an experienced instructor and assessor in a broad range of land-based skills, delivering training across the country accredited by Lantra, City & Guilds/NPTC and UK Rural Skills. Ellie has 20 years of marketing communications and business consultancy experience in the global turf industry. Chris’s development of Grounds Training from its inception, her knowledge of the sector, of commercial environments, and of the education and skills required to ensure both compliance and best practice, create a unique combination.

We are ideally placed to understand and meet our clients’ needs and committed to delivering appropriate professional training that ensures that all those working in the land-based sector do so safely and efficiently.

OUR INSTRUCTORS

We maintain a database of Lantra Awards and City & Guilds (NPTC) registered instructors whom we can call on to deliver courses to our members.

In addition we would like to hear from any instructors with turfcare industry experience who would be interested in delivering the Pitchcare General Sports Turf Maintenance courses in winter and/or summer sports, particularly if you also have a recognised teaching or instructional techniques qualification and a good knowledge of health and safety.

E-mail your details and a brief outline of your instructing and industry experience to info@groundstraining.com.
